Nigerian Society of Engineers Partners NIMASA in Advancing Blue Economy Growth

The critical role of professionalism in engineering practice as a foundation for advancing the course of the well clamoured Nigeria’s maritime and Blue Economy development have been duly emphasized.
This emphasis remark was made by the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, while receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), led by its President, Engineer Margaret Aina Oguntala, during a courtesy visit to NIMASA Management in Lagos.
The NIMASA boss underscored the importance of engineering expertise in advancing Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure and assured the NSE of NIMASA’s commitment to closer collaboration in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Blue Economy mandate.
Meanwhile, in her own earlier remarks, the President of the society, Engr. Oguntala highlighted the NSE’s alignment with the Blue Economy initiative, noting that the Society’s vision complements government efforts to harness the vast opportunities in Nigeria’s marine and maritime sectors. She expressed confidence that strengthened cooperation between NSE and NIMASA would foster innovation, enhance infrastructure development, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
The meeting according to the press statement made available by the Deputy Director/Head Public Relations, Edward Osagie FNIPR, was however concluded with both parties pledging to deepen collaboration for the benefit of the maritime sector and Nigeria’s economy at large.
