PROMOTION FELICITATIONS ON ELEVATED TRAIL BLAZING CUSTOMS OFFICERS: CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT OF CUSTOMS (CSC) OSCAR IVARA, PRO, TINCAN PORT COMMAND

CSC Oscar Ivara joined the Nigeria Customs Service in 2009 as a Cadet Officer. After undergoing the routine one year training, he got his first posting to Bauchi/Gombe Command as a Public Relations Officer (PRO) in June 2010, where he served up until 2013 before his next posting to Ogun Command in the Enforcement Unit, a branch away from Public Relations.

His stint at Ogun Command enforcement unit lasted up till 2017 before he was brought back to the Public Relations as Head of the Unit at Ikorodu Lighter Terminal Command where he served for just One year from 2017 to 2018.

The next posting took him to Port-Harcourt Area 1 Command in 2018 as the Public Relations Officer and where he served for seven (7) years and won a long service award as a PRO from 2018 to 2025, before his deployment to his present place of service at TinCan Island Port Command, the second largest revenue earning command of customs this year (2025).

He is a recipient of some awards of excellence and certificates of recognition, particularly the Silver Service award presented to him by the former CGC Dikko inde Abdullahi during the CGC Conference 2013 and the certificate of recognition for a decade long service to the NCS PR Unit at the just concluded Public Relations Conference 2025 held in Bayero University Kano, among others.

Oscar Ivara, a native of Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State is a Business Administration graduate (BSc) from South Western University, Okun Owa in Ogun State. He is as well a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Public Admin from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as a Masters Holder in Customs Administration and Border Management from the University of Port-Harcourt.

Ivara had undergone several courses in the course of service and as a Public Relations Officer.

His hobbies include football, combat sport and surfing the internet, and he is happily married children.
