Port-Harcourt II Customs Soars in Revenue Collection, Overshoots 2025 Target to Boost Nation’s Economy

The Nigeria Customs Service, Port Harcourt II (Onne) Command, have continued its pulsating performance strides, especially in the area of her revenue collection mandate, with recent developments of remarkably overshooting its 2925 annual target.
This sparkling feat has further strategically positioned the command as one of the top-notch revenue driving commands for the NCS and the Nation.
As contained in the press release statement made available to the media by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Theophilus Duniya, the command recorded a remarkable milestone in its revenue collection by surpassing the 2025 target of N700.01 billion, which was set based on the commendable performance of the command in surpassing its 2024 revenue target.
According to the statement, a total of N731.2 billion was collected by the Comptroller Aliyu M Alkali led leadership as Customs Area Controller (CAC), exceeding its 2025 revenue target by N31.25 billion representing 4.46%.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Aliyu M Alkali however attributed the outstanding performance to the leadership and commitment of his led management team who effectively implemented the Comptroller-General of Customs’ policy thrust and the indigenous developed Unified Customs Management System (B’ODOGWU) platform for faster cargo clearance.
Also, he said that his led management ensured strict adherence to standard operating procedures, maintained high discipline among officers, and fostered continuous engagement with stakeholders.
While acknowledging the importance of providing quality leadership, Comptroller Alkali expressed his gratitude to the management of the Nigeria Customs Service, led by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for providing an enabling environment that facilitated this achievement.
The CAC also appreciated the cooperation and synergy enjoyed from critical stakeholders who contributed to the Command’s success story.
Comptroller Alkali praised the officers of the Command for their dedication, diligence, and professionalism. He stated that the officers’ uncompromised posture and patriotism shaped the incredible miles in the interception of 75 containers with a cumulative Duty Paid Value of N47.6 billion.
According to him, ’30 out of the 75 containers intercepted were found to contain expired, illicit, and unregistered pharmaceutical products. Other cargoes were intercepted for contravening different sections of the Customs laws’.
In addition, he said the seizures would serve as a deterrent to intending violators of the extant laws, as he encouraged importers and Customs licensed agents to make honest declarations, noting that the Command remains committed to facilitating legitimate trade and enforcing customs regulations while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
