Fanfare, as Adeteye Olowoyeye, a Vibrant Police Officer, Bags Master’s Degree From Lagos State University

A distinguished officer of the Nigerian Police Force with a humane posture, Mr. Adeteye David Olowoyeye, a native of Akotogbo in Ondo State, has added a significant milestone to his academic, specialized knowledge and professional journey as he recently earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.

April 10, 2025, was indeed marked with fanfare and explicit joy for family and friends of David Olowoyeye when they rallied round to celebrate a worthy son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, father, mentor and friend, who was among the decorated Master’s Degree graduands at the 28th Convocation Ceremony programme for 2023/2024 academic year recently held at the University premises, an exercise that took place between April 03 and April 11th.

Born and brought up in Akotogbo, a vibrant community in Ondo State, Nigeria, Adeteye David Olowoyeye has an interesting education and life journey, as he began his educational journey at Methodist Primary School in Akotogbo, where he laid the foundational skills and values that would guide him throughout his life.

Olowoyeye displayed keen interest in learning from an early age, as he excelled academically, with strong determination and desire to further his education.

On completion his primary education, he proceeded to Akotogbo Community High School, where he continued to explore his academic brilliance as he bagged best student in West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) in year 2001 in Ondo state, as he garnered distinctions in eight subjects and credit in geography.

His secondary school days which were marked with commitment to academic excellence and active participation in extracurricular activities, was instrumental to the further shaping of his leadership and social skills.

However, after a highly successful Secondary education stint, Olowoyeye enrolled at the prestigious University of Ibadan, one of the nation’s foremost universities, where he pursued a degree in Economics, and later bagged Second Class Honour. This qualification is said to have equipped him with a deeper understanding of economic principles and analytical skills that would serve him throughout his career.

Olowoyeye academic brilliance at various stages continued to spur him on, and paved way for future professional academic pursuits.

After his successful and excellent first degree (University) sojourn, Olowoyeye pushed further for professional career, with significant contributions and inputs in the management and economics fields.

However, his career started to take the desired shape, when he enrolled with the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered) in 2010, and thereafter became a member, where he further enhanced his managerial skills and professional development.

David Olowoyeye is also a member of Institute of chartered Economists of Nigeria. 

In further pursuit of academic excellence and specialized knowledge, Olowoyeye later enrolled at Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo, where he recently earned a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations.

For him, the above qualification attainment did not only broadened his understanding of human capital management, but also prepared him for leadership roles that emphasize employee relations, organizational behaviour, and industrial dynamics.

Presently as we speak, David Olowoyeye is continuing his educational pursuit, as he is undertaken a Postgraduate Diploma in Public relations and advertising at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, Lagos. This pursuit, according to him, reflects his aspirations to blend his knowledge of human experience with effective communication strategies, to enhance his ability to contribute significantly to organizational success and public engagement.                  

Meanwhile, Mr. Adeteye David Olowoyeye has continued to apply his wealth of knowledge and experience in various professional settings. It is noted that his background in economics and human resources management has positioned him as a valuable asset in the corporate world, for his strategic thinking and ability to drive performance through effective people management.

As a dedicated professional, Mr. Olowoyeye remains committed to continuous learning and development, as he actively seeks for opportunities to enhance his skills and contribute to the growth and success of organizations he is associated with.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Olowoyeye has continued to explore his inherent philanthropic and humanity trait, as he is passionate and keen about giving back to his community.

He believes in the importance of education and often participates in initiatives aimed at supporting local schools and inspiring young people to pursue their dreams.

It is worthy of note that this pride of Akotogbo descendant in Ondo State recently awarded scholarship of School Fees of One year for Six (6) students that first attended TIGBO Ilu Grammar School in Sango Ota, Ogun State Nigeria.

Adeteye David Olowoyeye’s journey from Akotogbo to becoming a respected figure in the fields of economics and human resources exemplifies his dedication, hard work, and desire to make a positive impact on society.

He serves as an inspiration to many, demonstrating that with determination, resilience and persistence, one can achieve great heights.

Meanwhile, during the graduation ceremony, Olowoyeye popularly referred to as ‘Ajeghon’ during his hey days in Akotogbo, while giving God thanks for seeing him through, profoundly appreciated his wife, Kemi Adeteye, a native of Irele in Ondo State, who stood by him through thick and thin, filling the family gap during the periods he was away in the career and educational struggles. He is happily married with children.
