B’Odogwu Gains Hyper Traction at PTML Customs, Drives 34.1% Revenue Surge in 2025 Half Year

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ports and Terminal Multi services Limited Command have continued to record impressive strides in its revenue collection mandate, especially through the B’Odogwu modernization platform which it successfully piloted.
Once again, the Command’s Half year revenue report shows an indication of an improved revenue collections through this indigenous platform which the command have continued to flaunt, rising above initial challenges to near perfection.
The coincidental deployment of the present no nonsense Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command, Comptroller (Arc) Tenny Mankini Daniyan at the nick of the introduction of the scheme made its pilotage even smoother as the CAC continued to walk tall in the implementation daunting task to ensure the command is at its performing best at ensuring all round success in the deployment of the indigenous customs operational scheme.

With an impressive 34.1% increase in revenue recorded for the first half of 2025, having collected a total of ₦204,725,634,459.55, has surely placed the command in the right footings as one of the few revenue heavyweight commands of the service.
This above collection according to a press statement made available to TransQuest by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintended of Customs (SC) Abdullahi Tsafe Abubakar, represents a ₦52 billion rise compared to the ₦152,648,517,532.05 collected during the same period in 2024.
Comptroller Tenny Daniyan who made the impressive disclosure during a recent media briefing held at the Command in Lagos on Wednesday, 16 July, 2025, however attributed the performance boost to the successful implementation of the B’Odogwu digital platform, which he described as a transformative tool in trade facilitation and revenue collection.
“Despite initial challenges encountered while utilizing the B’Odogwu platform, there has been improvements with over 90% stakeholder compliance. The command generated ₦301.8 billion from the B’Odogwu platform since it’s rollout on October 11, 2024″, the CAC stated.
Comptroller Daniyan further said that the platform, developed as part of the Customs modernisation efforts, has streamlined processes, improved transparency, and accelerated cargo clearance. “The command holds the number one record of fastest cargo clearance time of two hours in line with the ‘Time Release Study’ (TRS), only declarations made with integrity can enjoy the benefits of faster clearance.”
Similarly, the CAC as well reported a notable increase in cargo activity, as he stated that between January and June 2025, the Command received a total of 52 vessels, handled 13,431 containers, and processed 30,400 assessments.
Remarkable in the statement was when the disclosed that ships from the Far East and China have now joined those from Europe and America in calling at the port.
Furthermore, the Customs Area Controller also stated that, PTML Command as the designated pilot area for B’Odogwu’s deployment, has intensified training for officers and customs agents to ensure smooth adoption and optimal use of the platform.
“The practical hands-on sessions have paid off as most of our stakeholders are knowledgeable about the system and its workings. These training sessions are in batches and still ongoing to ensure everyone is carried along”, he said.
Daniyan however reassured that while the Command continues to prioritise trade facilitation, enforcement operations and anti-smuggling efforts remain uncompromised.
In conclusion, he expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for entrusting the PTML Command with the initial rollout of B’Odogwu, while as well felicitating with him on his recent election as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council. He described the WCO attainment as a proud moment for Nigeria.
